Voice Actress June Foray Dies at 99!

In incredibly saddening news, the legendary voice actress, June Foray, has died at the age of 99! Ms. Foray (1917-2017) was pretty much the woman of “a thousand voices” being a big name in the business since the 1950s. Some of her more famous roles have been Lucifer in Cinderella, Squaw in Peter Pan, Granny and Witch Hazel in the Looney Tunes shorts, Rocky J. Squirrel in the The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, Mrs. Featherby in DuckTales, and Grandmother Fa in Mulan. It’s basically impossible to not have heard her voice at all in your life!

She was instrumental in creating the Annie Awards as well as in getting a Best Animated Feature category in the Academy Awards! What makes this even sadder was that she was two months shy of her 100th birthday ūüė¶ . She shall be missed!

Regarding These Live-Action Disney Remakes of Their Animated Films

disney canon classics

As everyone knows, Disney has recently been involved in a policy where they are making live-action remakes of their animated films. They’ve released Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, and Cinderella. Each of them have been HUGE financial successes!

Now, there are 8 more live-action remakes in the production: Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan, Cruella, and Pinocchio.

I, for one, am so sick and tired of this trend! I really disliked Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent! (I haven’t seen Cinderella yet.) And I think Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh are just stupid and/or bizarre ideas to make into live-action remakes!

I personally just want Disney to leave their animated classics alone and work on more original ideas. But, I’d like to know what you all think. So please tell me in the comments how you feel about this recent Disney trend.

I want to apologize for being a bit late with this post. It took me a while to obtain a copy of this film; because unlike the others, this was one I hadn’t seen in a long time and I needed to re-watch in order to determine its forgotten/minor characters. With that said, let’s waste no further time and dive right¬†in!

After the 6 package films and the end of WWII, Walt Disney decided to return to feature animation. Now because of losses made by the earlier movies and the war; Walt had to make a movie that would be a hit. If this movie flopped, Walt Disney Studios would have most likely gone bankrupt and been¬†shut down! So based on the fact that Walt Disney Studios is still around today, you can guess that his 12th animated film was indeed a massive hit! We are of course talking about the 1950 masterpiece, “Cinderella”! More

Cate Blanchett in “Cinderella” Negotiations

Australian actress Cate Blanchett is apparently in talks to portray the evil stepmother in the Disney live-action reboot of “Cinderella.”¬†Yes, Disney’s planning a live-action reboot of the classic 1950 film in the same manner as “Alice in Wonderland” and their upcoming “Maleficent.” The script is apparently being written by Chris Weitz.

¬†Personally, I’m not a fan of re-imagining these animated masterpieces as live-action. I’m not saying that they’re bad; but if I had my way, I’d let Disney come up with new ideas for live-action films instead of feeding off their old hits of a different medium. Anyway, what do you think of this upcoming “Cinderella” reboot and what would your ideal casting be for it?
